Churchill. Lincoln. Gandhi. All are, apparently, alive and well in central Thailand. OK, so maybe not alive… Visit the Thai Human Imagery Museum (http://www.rosenini.com/thaihumanimagery/english.htm) in Nakorn Pathom province, and you’ll see all the above, plus notable Thai poets, cultural icons, historical figures and more, all made out of wax but so much more realistic than Madame Tussauds, or other waxworks I’ve seen. These include the former monarchs of Thailand’s ruling Chakri dynasty, famous Buddhist monks, and an interpretation of Phra Abhaimani, the epic written by UNESCO world poet Sunthorn Phu. Located about 90 minutes outside Bangkok, the museum is set in stunning grounds with full amenities. One of those little gems I’d never even heard about in 10+ years of living in Thailand. Highly recommended.

I visited this museum during my last trip to Nakhon Pathom some month ago. This visit was a part of our itinerary that included this wax museum, Rose Garden and the Crocodile and Elephant farm.
